Heart Broken

I've been sitting on this secret for a week now (which is why I've been slow on the posting and eating so much ice cream) but I just want to be the first to tell you guys that our company lost the license for Betsey Johnson. You may know that Betsey Johnson was having some financial issues and that Steve Madden got involved in the company to help out... I won't get into it but if you want to know more, go herehere or here or google it.

Steve's very capable company will be taking over the design and production for Betsey which means I am out of a job. A very amazing job that I feel very fortunate to have had.

Working with Betsey has been one of the best experiences of my career so far and I am so honored to have been her shoe designer. I think Betsey and I were a match made in cotton candy heaven and I will miss our meetings but will always feel like part of her world.

BETSEY I LOVE YOU!!!
Thank you for sharing your light with me!

So what's next?? Stay tuned to find out! I still have Harajuku Lovers and I've heard rumors of some exciting stuff that may be headed my way :)

This is still the coolest thing ever... Sent to me from Betsey after our last collection.

With a heavy heart,
Celine
Your Shoe Girl

XOXO

Oh my goodness! Well I have no doubt that you probably have something even more amazing in the works. Can't wait to see it. Did you see your page in VAMPD? It's fabulous and I love it!

I am sorry that this happened. But I do still think that you are very lucky to be given an opportunity to design shoes (or heck design anything) with a prominent figure in fashion. That thought alone is something to make your heart swell with pride and humility. Reading your blog, you'd seem to mirror Betsy's essence in life and love, and it is translated so beautifully to the shoes. I feel there could be another opportunity that awaits you and this experience with Betsy is just the beginning, a stepping stone to bigger things.

I wish you luck and I look forward for your next adventure.

Hi Celine, I've been reading about Steve Madden taking over Betsey Johnson, and I wondered how it would affect you. I'm sorry that you are bummed right now, but I feel you will have many opportunities in the future.

You seem like a great girl with a great heart. Plus, your talent and positive attitude will take you a long way. Your loyal followers, like me, are here for you sending positive vibes and well wishes your way.

You never know what kind of lemonade you can make from these lemons. Should you go out on your own, I would buy your shoes in a heartbeat.

Sorry to hear about this, but I bet something even bigger is in store for you. This is my favorite blog, not because of the awesome shoes but because of you - it's quirky and inspiring and you're so likeable! I hope you start blogging again soon, I check daily for your entries; I'm not a shoe designer (or a designer at all) but your blog gives me creative inspiration and makes me happy!

Good luck on your next adventure, whatever it may be!

I think I am still reeling from the news. I am so sorry about this! But I do agree with so many of the viewers: your talent and attitude are going to take you on to bigger and better things. (Maybe a line of your own??) :)

I am also so sad of the loss at Betsey and the scary thought of SM designing the shoes for her brand. I am a huge fan (or was), own at least 30 pairs and bet most pairs in my collection could be attributed to your amazing designs. And now the quality, comfort and "fun" factor are in question. Without you, what is to come of her line?

As a fellow shoe lover and shoe blogger - I look forward to seeing where life takes you. You are an inspiration and such a positive person. I have no doubt wonderful things are going to happen for you!
